BACK TO SCHOOL

As a teenager I HATED PE....

SO why oh why am I a personal trainer?

As soon as I left school I realised that actually I love doing exercise, fresh air, adrenaline, pushing that little bit further, being part of a team or just getting out and clearing my head.

It is all too easy to remember cold showers, PE knickers and wearing nothing more than a vest and pants when there is frost on the ground. I WISH someone had told me then that this was not what it is all about.

I regret not taking more interest when I had the chance. Imagine now if a couple of times a week, during your working day you could just go out, get some exercise and have fun.

Think back to what you enjoyed as a kid, athletics, football, netball, badminton, hockey the list is endless ...

Why not try it again? Cheshire councils are starting to run BACK TO.... courses. Specifically designed for people who want to rediscover their past sporting passion, or find out what they missed.

There are loads of teams out there, have a look. You might just find that being part of a team again gives you the motivation and support you need to STICK TO IT!

Why as a personal trainer do I suggest anything but paying me to train you?

Why not! I love helping people to find ways to make exercise work for them. That's what I do. If just one person reads this and decides to try something new then I'll be made up.

If you need help getting started or lack the confidence to join a team, check out my website. I can help.

Gym training is a thing of the past...

...sweating away in a warehouse full of people you don't know?

Dragging yourself out of the house to do the same workout on the same equipment again and again?

Short on time and wondering why a round trip to the gym always seems to take too long?

Tired of gym instructors who don't care about what you need?

Tied into a twelve month contract that you can't wait to get out of?

Is it time to make the change?

Start taking responsibility for your health and wellbeing, make the most of the time that you have.

In todays fast paced, unforgiving world every moment we have is critical. I know too many people who regularly attend a gym but after the first couple of months lose interest. Why does that happen?

Research has shown that the human body quickly adapts to exercise, within 6 to 8 weeks of starting a new regime your fitness and weight loss gains will plateau. The human body is amazing and it is this training effect that results from the new muscle and new brain cells that exercise develops.

To keep improving your fitness, kick start weight loss again, see the extra centimetres on your pecs you need CHANGE.

Make your gym instructors do some work for you, request a new program every couple of months, try a new class, try something NEW.

So why do you need a gym? The answer is you don't. To get the most out of your workouts, use your time effectively, work out at home, in the park, at work, run, cycle, walk, swim, skip, hula ... whatever takes your fancy.
